About ASCE Houston
Welcome to the ASCE Houston Website. Established in 1943, the Houston Branch is one of the largest ASCE Branches in the United States serving more than 3,500 members across 13 local counties. Read our President's Message.

The Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) is ASCE’s technical source for environmental and water-related issues. In December 2014, the ASCE Houston Board approved a proposal to create a local EWRI Chapter. The national EWRI Board approved the Houston EWRI charter in January of 2015. Visit the national website for more detailed information about EWRI’s mission. The EWRI Houston chapter provides a platform to discuss environmental and water-related topics in the Houston-Galveston region with opportunities for members to connect. Topics include water supply, wastewater treatment, floodplain management, groundwater, erosion and geomorphology, stormwater, water quality, nature-based solutions, ecology, coastal resiliency, ecosystem restoration, meteorology and climate, and others.
Our events and activities include monthly technical tours, lunches and webinars, social happy hours, student outreach, and volunteerism. Each year culminates in our November conference with 200+ attendees and 20+ government, non-profit, and academic speakers.
Consider getting involved with EWRI Houston as a member (see HERE for membership options), committee co-chair, sponsor, or simply by showing up and connecting with colleagues from the region. Events are listed below and in the ASCE calendar.
