President's Message

President’s Message – October 2026

Dear ASCE Houston Branch Members,

It is truly an honor to serve as President of the ASCE Houston Branch for the 2026-27 year. I am grateful for the opportunity to step into this role and help lead one of the largest and most active ASCE branches in the country, especially the Houston one, as we are the best Branch out there! I would also like to thank our immediate Past President, Anna Chamberlain, for her leadership, dedication, and the many contributions she made to the Branch over this past year.

I also want to express my sincere appreciation to all our volunteers, committee chairs, board members, and institute leaders who generously give their time to support the Branch. Everything we accomplish, from technical programs and professional development opportunities to student outreach and networking events, is possible because of the commitment and passion of our volunteers. I look forward to working alongside this outstanding group as we continue to serve our members and advance the civil engineering profession throughout the Houston region.

I am excited to invite you to our October Branch Meeting, which marks an exciting scenery change for our monthly meetings. Starting this month, Branch Meetings will be held at the Hilton Houston Westchase, providing a great venue for all of us to connect, learn, and engage with each other.

We are also fortunate to welcome Randy Macchi, JD, Director of Houston Public Works, as our keynote speaker for our October Branch Meeting. Randy oversees one of the nation's largest public works organizations and he will share insights from his work leading Houston Public Works and the important work underway across the City of Houston. If you are available, please join us on October 20th for an evening of networking, learning, and connecting with fellow engineers.

Thank you for your continued support of the ASCE Houston Branch. I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year and hearing your ideas as we work together to strengthen our Branch and to better serve our members!

ASCE October Houston Branch Meeting

**NEW LOCATION** Branch Meetings will now be hosted at the Hilton Houston Westchase

Online registration closes at 12pm the day before the event. Walk-ins are welcome and may register onsite on the day of the event. 

AGENDA

• 5:00 PM - Social Hour
• 6:00 PM - Dinner / Keynote Address

NOTES:

1. Dinner will be a chicken dish. If you would like a vegetarian or gluten-free option, please indicate this in the registration comments. We cannot guarantee that these options will be available for walk-ins.

2. VIRTUAL MEETING REGISTRATION: A link will be sent to you the day before the event, with a reminder one hour prior to the start time.
