Younger Member's Report

Posted by admin on 02/05/2015 12:00 am - Younger Member's Report

Hello All,

This past weekend the Houston Branch hosted the ASCE Central Region Younger Member Conference and Multi-Regional Leadership Conference. There were a lot of people who helped to make this conference possible, and for the sake of brevity I won’t try to list all of them, but I would like to thank Natalie Weiershausen and Brian Ridley for all of the time and energy they put into making the conference successful. There was a great exchange of ideas with other younger members from across the country, and we look forward to bringing some of those home, so to speak.

As you may have heard by now, the 2015 Engineers Week celebration is this month, the week of February 22nd. Kicking off the celebration will be the Run of π . This will be a 5K (~3.14…etc. miles) on February 21st at 8:00 am at the University of Houston main campus, east of Lynn Eusan Park. The run will benefit STEM programs and scholarships in the Houston area. Registration is open to individual runners and corporate sponsors alike. For more information, or to register see the link below.

For the full calendar of E-Week events and more information check out the E-Week Houston Website: http://houstonengineersweek.org/

As usual we will also have a social event at some point in the month. The details have yet to be determined, but we are looking at something in the Montrose area. As always, let me know if you would like more information about any events, and I hope to see many of you at some of the events or meetings this month.

Best,
John Myers
