2026-2027 Treasurer-Elect Candidate: Abigail Borders, PE

Abigail Borders is a Civil Engineer at AECOM and a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. She specializes in roadway and maintenance of traffic (MOT) design and has supported transportation projects across the U.S., including major urban corridors and alternative delivery projects. Her work focuses on developing practical, safe, and constructible solutions through coordination with multidisciplinary teams. In addition to her project work, Abigail serves as the Women’s Leadership Alliance - Commerce Committee Lead, supporting professional development and visibility for women across the organization.

Abigail holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston. Since 2016, she has been an active member of the ASCE Houston Branch, where she began as a student member and has remained engaged throughout her professional career. She has served on the Membership and Hospitality Committees and most recently served as Vice President of Communications. Abigail is also involved with the INWED Houston Committee, supporting the annual International Women in Engineering Day event, and is currently slated to serve as Treasurer Elect for the upcoming fiscal year.

Outside of work, Abigail enjoys creative hobbies, spending time outdoors, and exploring Houston’s food scene.
