Edmond Loh - Engineering Manager, EML Manufacturing
Edmond Loh was born in Malacca famously known as the historic state of Malaysia on March 3, 1971. He grew up in a small town where the accessibility to “modern” toys was limited hence he kept himself busy with the abundance of nature and homemade “toys”. At a young age of 5, he showed an aptitude in understanding mechanical devices by repairing a broken cassette recorder for his parents. One would be surprised that Engineering is not his first love. He dreamt of becoming a pilot but due to his parent’s anxiety over the danger of such profession, he then chose to attend engineering school. After his graduation from high school in 1989, he left for the United States to further his studies. Being alone in a strange new country was a huge challenge but a great learning experience. In 1993, he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Early in his career, he designed electrical and control systems for the Oil & Gas industry. With his inquisitive mind and the constant need to challenge himself, he performs process and mechanical design for various oil field equipment. In 2004, he joined Solar Turbines, Inc. and was instrumental in the design of gas compression and the standardization of parts for Solar’s six-sigma program. After his tenure as a consultant in Solar, he joined EML Manufacturing in 2009 as their Engineering Manager.
