Value of Visualizations in Transportation Engineering

Mark Ingram, P.E.
Transportation engineers are using 3D traffic simulations and other visualization tools to help provide a better understanding of how proposed improvements will look and how they will operate. In this presentation we will explore several examples of how visualizations were applied to projects and how this tool resulted in a positive impact on decisions being made in various stages of project development.
Mark Ingram has over 20 years of project experience in traffic engineering design and analysis as well as transportation planning. He is a native Houstonian who grew up in the Sharpstown area and knows the impact that urban growth and changes in land use can have on our transportation system. Mark is the lead Traffic and Transportation Engineering instructor for Testmasters Inc. where he teaches Traffic Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Engineering Economics for the Principals and Practices Exam and the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam throughout the United States.
