AIA Sandcastle Competition
August is finally here, which means it’s officially time for the Sandcastle Competition! Come out on August 25th to help cheer on and support the Houston YMs and ASCE members as they build a special sandcastle to commemorate 75 years of Houston ASCE! If you have not RSVP’d to participate, please email Maegan Nunley ([email protected]) or Alex Govea ([email protected]) to see if you can still join!
YM Social: Carlos Cruz-Diez at the Buffalo Bayou Cistern
Join the ASCE YM Group at the Buffalo Bayou Cistern for Carlos Cruz-Diez at the Cistern: Spatial Chromointerference. This dazzling projection of continuously moving chromatic modules on the Cistern's columns, walls and cubes floating in the shallow pool of water on the reservoir's floor invites visitors to become an essential component of the artwork. Stay late and join us for a tour about the History of the Cistern following the art exhibit! The tours start at 6:00 PM. Register for one or both tours on the Houston ASCE website! Registration is $5 for each tour, or $5 for both!
ASCE Texas YM Annual Camping Trip
Join ASCE Younger Members from all over Texas for the 3rd Annual Texas Section YM Camping Trip on Friday, September 21st – Sunday, September 23rd! This year, the trip will be at McKinney Falls State Park where you can hike or bike, swim or fish, and network and hangout with other YMs. The fee of $38 covers your campsite and 5 meals. Registration has been extended to September 1st! Register online at http://texasce.org/events/ !
CECON Awards Banquet: Boot Scootin’ Boogie Night
For those of you attending CECON, join ASCE members at a country themed awards banquet on the last night of CECON, Thursday, September 20th at 6:30. Come enjoy a hand-selected dinner buffet and bar and live music from a local country artist! Registration for the banquet is included in your CECON registration!
