This Past Month’s Events
YMI Buffalo Bayou Cleanup This past month, ASCE YM members joined TAWWA in cleaning up Buffalo Bayou. Volunteers helped shovel silt and debris from around trees along the bank, left by Hurricane Harvey. Thank you to TAWWA for organizing the event and to all the volunteers who participated.
Water for PeopleASCE and TAWWA joined forces for another last month to raise money for Water for People. The event was held at Saint Arnold Brewery. Thank you to everyone who came out and made donations and again, thank you to TAWWA for organizing another great event for our members.
This Upcoming Month
PE Luncheon On Thursday, December 7th, ASCE will be hosting its annual PE Luncheon at Terracon from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The presentation will be given by George Hartman, an Engineer for TBPE for over 14 years. The luncheon will begin with a presentation over specifics of the professional licensure application and conclude with a Q&A session with a panel of engineers who have recently taken their PE and received their licenses. Registration is open on the ASCE Houston website. Lunch will be provided.
CYCLE Bicycle Build On December 9th, ASCE will be volunteering at the CYCLE Bicycle Build Event. Cycle is a children’s charity that encourages students to achieve higher academic performance by rewarding students who have met their goals with a new bicycle. Ugly Christmas Sweater Happy Hour with WEAT and TAWWA On Wednesday, December 13th, ASCE will join WEAT and TAWWA for the Ugly Christmas Sweater Happy Hour! The happy hour will be at Axelrad starting at 5:00 PM. Come out for some networking and holiday cheer!
ASCE Trivia Night Fundraising Event This year for our fundraising event, ASCE is hosting a trivia night! We are starting to look for companies interested in sponsoring the event. Sponsorships range in tiers from Bronze to Title, with varying advantages to each one including your company’s logo on the sponsor board to a banner with your company’s logo and complementary entrance for a team of 6 people.
