Building a Pump Station on the Water: Designing and Construction Challenges for a Raw Water Intake at Lake Conroe, Texas

The new Raw Water Intake Pump Station on Lake Conroe required designers to be innovative and demonstrates the benefits of CMAR delivery method and close collaboration during design and construction. This presentation will explore a few of the challenges encountered and how they were overcome.
Mr. Jason Ward, P.E. is a project manager and firm Associate in FNI's Houston office. He had more than 10 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction management of pump stations, elevated storage tanks, and water and wastewater conveyance projects. Mr. Ward has a BS in Civil engineering from Texas A&M and is a Texas licensed Professional Engineer.
Mr. Sam Meisner, P.E. is a firm Associate whose experience includes civil engineering projects for Texas municipalities and water districts, with an emphasis in designing pump stations, transmission pipelines, and water distribution systems. He is a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Civil Engineering.
Mr. Shane Porter, P.E., PMP is a Project Manager with the San Jacinto River Authority. His work focuses on managing projects associated with implementation of the Authority's Groundwater Reduction Plan Program. Mr. Porter has a BS and MS in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M, is a Texas licensed Professional Engineer, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
