Super Bowl LI: Countdown to Kickoff
Hasting Stewart - Executive Vice President, Public Affairs, Houston Super Bowl Host Committee
As the Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, Hasting is responsible for all communications, government and community relations, and charitable giving related to the Host Committee’s planning for Super Bowl LI in February 2017. In this role, Hasting is charged with identifying strategic partnerships with local media, government, community and key stakeholders to promote the Host Committee’s key initiatives and messages.
Most recently, Hasting served as the Senior Manager Communications – Deep Water at Shell Oil Company. He was responsible for all public affairs activities related to Shell’s offshore oil & gas portfolio in the Americas. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana, Hasting managed critical communication and public relations efforts -- including building and nurturing effective relationships with key community, civic, and government leaders -- that ensured timely delivery of multi-billion dollar projects across the Americas Region, with a particular focus on offshore access, advocacy and business growth.
A resourceful, creative and seasoned public affairs professional, Hasting has held positions with increased responsibility in advertising, marketing, communications and public affairs. Prior to his role in New Orleans, he was the Manager of Social Investment/Vice-President of the US Shell Foundation here in Houston, tasked with creating Shell’s vision, strategy and programs for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in alignment with the company’s strategic plan and business objectives. Hasting also held a number brand of management roles for the Pennzoil Brand on the full synthetic and synthetic blend product lines. He planned, managed and implemented the first, highly successful launch of Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic Motor Oil. Hasting developed the pricing strategy, national promotions, packaging, media, and public relations for his product lines.
He is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and is a Life Member Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He and his wife Jackie have been married for thirteen years have three children; Hasting III, Payton, and Jordyn.
