Topic: Retaining Walls: Selection, Design, Construction, and Asset Management

Retaining walls are an integral part of projects through a broad spectrum of the industry that not only serve a structural purpose, but have an impact on aesthetics, branding, operations, and life safety. Through the use of project examples, this presentation discusses both the practical and theoretical aspects of retaining wall selection, design, construction, and asset management. Common items that lead to poor performance of wall systems will be identified throughout the presentation. Attendees will learn about various retaining wall types and applicability to site conditions, design parameters and procedures, construction inspection, and asset management of new and existing wall inventories.
