"Tilt-up Design and Construction in 2018"

Abstract: Although the cost advantages of using tilt-up construction for industrial and warehouse applications in the Gulf Coast region are well-known, ingenuity in modern architectural and structural design have led to the proliferation of the technique across new markets. Primary topics include current structural methods and considerations used in tilt-up design, advancements in integrated insulation for energy code compliance, the new aesthetics driving owner interest, utility in both blast and progressive collapse design, as well as, a current cost/benefit comparison of tilt-up versus other prevalent construction methods.
