This presentation, by Erin Atkinson, P.E., GSP, of Halff Associates, Inc., will discuss how the latest GIS technology advancements can benefit water resources projects. These advancements in GIS cover a broad spectrum, from data processing and storage options for streamlining floodplain mapping to web and mobile GIS integration. Examples will be presented demonstrating a variety of solutions that support 2D modeling, field data collection, real-time data feeds and flood monitoring.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Erin Atkinson is a Vice President and the GIS/Technology Practice Leader for Halff Associates, Inc.  He joined Halff in 2001 and has had the opportunity to lead a wide variety of Water Resources projects that integrate GIS and web-based solutions.   Erin is a registered Professional Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager, Certified GIS Professional, and a graduate of Texas Tech University.
