This Past Month’s Events

YMI Happy Hour

This past month, ASCE YM members joined the city-wide YM initiative for a happy hour hosted by SAME at Fox and Hound. YM members were able to network with other engineers and connect across organizations. All proceeds from this happy hour were donated to the Hurricane Relief Fund.

University of Houston Resume Fair

ASCE members volunteered at the University of Houston Fall 2017 Resume Fair hosted by The Cullen College of Engineering in September. ASCE members and other engineering professionals reviewed civil engineering students’ resumes for format, consistency, subjectivity, grammar, spelling and discussed how to participate in conversation during an interview. The objective of this event was to help students with resumes on a personal basis and to provide advice on how to be more interactive during a job interview. The event also provided UH students with a networking opportunity with the local engineers.
