Younger Member's Report

Happy August ASCE Younger Members!

As we collectively enjoy and avoid the summer heat, take comfort in knowing that ASCE is working hard to keep you active and involved while keeping you cool. Join us at any of the exciting events below (no worries, they’re all indoors)!

Last Month’s Events:

Habitat for Humanity

Thank you to our handy volunteers! This event was a lot of fun! Volunteers worked hard, through the rain, helping with tasks such as helping to caulk and paint a house, remove scaffolding and install siding, and while the weather was still good, help install roof shingles.  Thank you Carrie for coordinating this community service event! It was a hit and there are more Habitat for Humanity builds to come in the future. See the ASCE website for photos and we hope to see you at the next build!

Upcoming Events:

Understanding Wetland Mitigation Issues-

Our next Younger Member (YM) technical seminar will be a joint event with SAME on August 10, 2017 from 11:30am – 1pm. Last but not least, I’d like to say farewell for now. This will be the last ASCE Younger Member newsletter that I’ll write, as August marks the change of seasons and leadership within our local chapter. It’s been an extremely busy year full of growth and excitement for all. Next year looks to have even more in store. Amanda Retta, our current Social Activities chair will be your 2017-18 YM Chair and we look forward to her and her new YM chairs leadership and inspiration.

Ciao!
